Education
Carnegie Mellon University named Steve Wray the executive director of its Block Center for Technology and Society; and said David Major joined the Tepper School of Business as the inaugural associate dean of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.

Westinghouse appointed Dan Sumner, president, Operating Plant Services Business Unit, and Shravan Chopra, CFO.
Health
St. Clair Health announced that Marion A. McGowan was appointed senior vice president and chief operating officer.
Peter Montini, DMD, has joined the St. Barnabas Dental Team.
Law
SGK said associate Byron R .C. Stroud joined as a member of its corporate services, energy and natural resources, litigation and dispute resolution and real estate practice groups. His practice includes supporting practitioners with documentation, research, analysis and working with corporate clients on transactions and commercial litigation.
Manufacturing
United States Steel Corp. announced that Alicia J. Davis was elected to its board, effective March 1. Ms. Davis is chief strategy officer at Lear Corp.
Military
Byron Zajdel was promoted to the rank of major in the U.S. Army Reserve. He is employed by Westinghouse Electric and is a resident of the South Side.
Nonprofit Ray Block
joined the Rand Corp. as its inaugural Michael D. Rich Chair for Countering Truth Decay. Mr. Block joins Rand from Penn State University, where he is an associate professor of political science and African American studies and the Laurence and Lynn Brown-McCourtney Endowed Career Professor in Penn State’s McCourtney Institute for Democracy. He will continue his affiliation with the university.
Michel Conklin, executive director, BotsIQ, was named a member of the board of the Women in Manufacturing Education Foundation.

ARCO, design-build general contractor, has expanded its nationwide presence with the opening of an office in Pittsburgh at 651 Holiday Drive Plaza 5, Suite 400, Pittsburgh, 15220.
Schaedler Yesco Distribution Inc. finalized the purchase of YESCO Electrical Supply. The purchase included all assets for the five location supplier serving Ohio and Western Pennsylvania. Schaedler Yesco Distribution, established in 1924, is a fourth generation family- and employee-owned provider of complete connected solutions for the electrical industry. With this purchase, the company now operates 24 locations in Pennsylvania, two in Ohio, and one in New York.

Herbein + Co. Inc. announced that it has won the Clearly-Rated Best of Accounting Award for providing superior client service. Clearly-Rated’s Best of Accounting Award winners have proven to be industry leaders in service quality, based on ratings provided by their clients. Herbein received satisfaction scores of 9 or 10 out of 10 from 91.8% of its clients, significantly higher than the industry’s average of 50% in 2022.
