Makes Another Complex Situation Easy for Home Seller

-

HomeBuyers of Pittsburgh often works with sellers that are looking to make their transition as quick and easy as possible. The HomeBuyers of Pittsburgh team recently worked with a a retired Marine Vet, Thomas, living in a nursing home facility who needed to quickly sell his long time vacant residence in the Ben Avon neighborhood in order to continue his level of care at his nursing facility.

With no family or friends to help him through what can often be a difficult and stressful process of selling a home, the homeowner reached out directly to the HomeBuyers of Pittsburgh team after seeing them on TV.

The team visited the seller in person at his nursing home to support him all the way through the selling process. For HomeBuyers of Pittsburgh, no matter the situation, the process always begins with an initial phone call, during which the team learns basic information about the situation and the house to determine if they could be a good fit for each other. The second step is a 20-30 minute home tour where they evaluate any repairs or updates needed to the home and gather more details about the situation. There, on the appointment, they’re able to come up with the best strategy to meet their clients wants and needs. This seller had many sentimental items in his home including jewelry, photo albums, and a baseball card collection. In the middle of this past Winter, the Home Buyers team personally went to his home to sort through and find all of his most prized possessions and then hand delivered to him.

“When we visit the house, our number one goal is to dial in the highest price we can pay and the best solution for the seller. Sometimes it’s not just about the money, it’s about solving complex problems, helping clean out the house, or simply closing on their timeline that makes all the difference,” said Mr. Scialabba, Owner and Licensed Realtor.

In this case, the seller needed someone he could trust to gather his most important personal, sentimental possessions while also selling his home for the best price possible in a timely manner.

Everything was on target to close within a quick 21-day time period, but in the closing days, the title company realized there needed to be an estate open, which happens often. This particular situation was unique and more complex than usual because the seller had to navigate legal steps to give him authority to sign in place of his deceased parents, who were both on the deed.

The HomeBuyers’ team personally walked him through the process and their attorney came directly to the nursing home, picked him up and drove him downtown to open an estate, sign his paperwork and brought him back to the nursing home.

Although there was a small delay at the last minute due to the open estate, the entire process from start to finish took six weeks.

The HomeBuyers of Pittsburgh team takes pride in their commitment to each individual seller in making complex situations easy for the home seller and the home selling process as simple and hassle-free as possible. The proof is in the track record:
