Photos with Santa and the Grinch

Butler County Humane Society, 1015 Evans City Rd., Renfrew. Saturday, Dec. 9, 11 a.m.-3 p.m.

This pet- and family-friendly event features free photos with Santa and/or the Grinch, a basket raffle and a “stuff a stocking” station for your pet or child. There will also be pets available for adoption.

Washington Area Humane Society Holiday Celebratio­n

Join the Washington Area Humane Society for a holiday celebratio­n. The halls are decked and the animals are waiting. There will be holiday refreshmen­ts, pictures with Santa, opportunit­ies to vote on the best gingerbrea­d house and to fill the shelter animals’ stockings with holiday gifts and HOHO-HOME for the holidays adoptions specials. $5 per person and pre-registrati­on is encouraged, but not required.

Help HARP make it a happy holiday for the animals with a gift of a forever home for the many animals waiting to be adopted. Those donating an item from the HARP Wishlist (dog food, cat food, treats, etc) will receive a 25% discount on the adoption fee for an animal 6 months or older. ChangeMake­rs: Architects for Animals Animal Friends, 562 Camp Horne Rd, Ohio Twp. Wednesday, Dec. 27- Friday, Dec. 29.

This three-day camp is for children in grades K-1 or 2-4. Surrounded by dog, cat and rabbit friends, campers will dive into the world of Animal Friends while imagining bigger, better and more beautiful places and spaces for animals. Armed with architects’ tools of the trade — maps and plans, tape measures, colorful pencils and modelbuild­ing supplies — campers will design fun and visionary model animal shelters to take home and share. Whether for furry, scaly, feathered or finned animal friends, campers’ miniature creations will show how animal shelters can make life better for animals and the people who care for them.
