The Board of Regents of The American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC) elected Nora Gieg Chatha, estates & trusts attorney, Tucker Arensberg, to become a Fellow. She represents corporate fiduciary banks and trusts companies, individuals, and health care providers in all areas of estate & trust planning, administration and litigation.
Consulting
AE Works hired Samantha Singer, senior project manager, planning + project services group; Steven Schroth, electrical team leader; Jeanmarie Zimmerman, health care and planning strategy leader, planning + project services group. In addition, AE Works promoted Mary McCarty to operational excellence leader.
Education
The University of Pennsylvania announced that Ramanan Raghavendran was named chair of the board of trustees.
Law
Robert A. Gallagher, a partner in Troutman Pepper’s Construction practice, was appointed to office managing partner.
Eckert Seamans appointed Raymond C. Vogliano as chair of its tax, estates and employee benefits practice. Mr. Vogliano represents individual and business clients in tax controversies before federal, state and local taxing authorities and is admitted to practice before the U.S. Tax Court.
Burns White promoted Claire M. Cookinham to member and Joseph C. Romano to equity membership status. Ms. Cookinham’s practice in volves a wide range of commercial litigation, with a focus on transportation and logistics litigation, automobile liability and premises liability. Mr. Romano focuses on the defense of a variety of employers and insurance companies throughout Pennsylvania.
McNees announced that former Pittsburgh City Controller Michael E. Lamb joined its firm. He will practice in the public finance and government services group.
Phil DiLucente and Associates, LLC, named Nicole Nino-Rosato, partner, criminal practice group; Ken Nolan, partner in charge, personal injury practice group; and added Christopher J. Manning to its management team as controller.
Manufacturing
PPG announced that Peter Votruba-Drzal was named vice president-elect, global sustainability. Diane Kappas, current vice president, global sustainability, has announced her intention to retire from PPG effective July 1, 2024.
Sports
Sports Facility, LLC, the parent company of the Washington Wild Things, named Christine Blaine as its chief executive officer.
Business
Exler & Company, Inc., merged with H2R CPA effective Jan. 1 to expand and enhance the professional services of the two firms. The staff of Exler & Company will join H2R CPA, and Mark R. Exler, William (Bill) H. Westland Jr. and Steven M. Gregory will be partners at H2R CPA.
Awards and Honors
84 Lumber announced its end-of-the-year award winners. The Business Excellence Award — which recognizes an associate who has demonstrated leadership skills, achievement, growth and success at 84 Lumber— was awarded to Nick Nickells, pricing manager, manufacturing. The Rising Star Award, which recognizes up-and-coming associates, was awarded to Kathy Silver, phone receptionist/ mailroom.
