DOGS AT PLAY
Phyllis, Bubba and Harley Jack are looking for human buddies
Shelter Soulmates is a bi-weekly column which spotlights adoptable animals at various Pittsburgh area shelters.
Phyllis
Phyllis is a 4-year-old spayed tricolor beagle mix who has been at the Beaver County Humane Society since the end of October.
This 62-pound girl can be shy and you may need to work a little to get to know her. But once she’s comfortable, she will be your best friend.
Phyllis has excellent leash
skills and has great manners all around. She is learning basic obedience and will sit nicely for a treat. She is very food-motivated and learns quickly. She enjoys sniffing while on walking/hiking outings with volunteers and likes to ride in the car.
She is the perfect companion who does not want to share her people. She will bark when she sees a stranger and should be the only pet in the home.
If you want someone to watch over you, give you unconditional love and warm your heart forever, come meet Phyllis at the Beaver County Humane Society. Learn more at beavercountyhumanesociety.org.
Bubba
Bubba is a 7-year-old mixedbreed dog who weighs 112 pounds. He will eat just about anything and loves snacks!
He enjoys going for short walks, napping, playing with tennis balls and spending time with his people. On his leisurely walks, he likes to stop and look around to take in his surroundings. It’s also a good time for a treat break.
Bubba may look intimidating because of his size, but he’s really just a big blob of love that can’t wait to get to know you. He will even give pawwhen introducing himself!
He would do best in a quiet home without other animals or children due to food guarding. If you’re looking for a sweet, slobbery boy, come meet Bubba at the Butler County Humane Society. For details, go to butlercountyhs.org.
Harley Jack
Harley Jack is an almost 3-yearold pit bull mix weighing about 68 pounds. He has spent the past year at the Washington Area Humane Society and, while he is getting lots of love and attention, it’s time for him to find a forever home.
He loves playtime and curling up on a blanket with his stuffies in his kennel. He adds to his collection daily with stuffies from the play yards.
Harley Jack is a sweet boy who
prefers low-key dogs and can be dog selective, so a meet-and-greet is required. Because of his size and enthusiasm, he will do best in a home withchildren age 15 and older.
He would benefit from a strong and routine-focused owner. With structure and love, Harley Jack will blossom and be a wonderful companion for someone. To find out more, go to washingtonpashelter.org.
