Two 23-year-old women are charged with homicide in connection with the Easter Sunday shooting of a 16-yearold boy in Wilkinsburg.

Police said Kevin Wilson was shot shortly before 10:30 p.m. and was a bystander caught up in a fight in which he was not involved. He was pronounced dead at UPMC Children’s Hospital shortly after 11 p.m.

In addition to homicide, Kira Jackson and Alicia Johnson face charges of aggravated assault and conspiracy. Ms. Johnson turned herself in late Wednesday, Post-Gazette news partner KDKA- TV reported. Ms. Jackson was taken into custody earlier in the day.

According to a criminal complaint, a witness reported that she’d had “ongoing issues” with the women for nearly a decade. On the night of the shooting, the witness received word that the pair intended to shoot up her Hill Avenue home.

Shortly after 10 p.m. Sunday, several people showed up on Hill Avenue, including Ms. Jackson and Ms. Johnson, the witness told police. A fight broke out between a member of the group that showed up and the witness’ cousin. The fight was broken up, and the two women continued on Hill Avenue.

The witness said both women eventually pulled out guns and started shooting in her direction, according to the complaint. When the shooting stopped, the witness said she saw Kevin lying in a doorway. He’d been shot in the chest.

Police later said they found 15 shell casings in a car registered to Ms. Jackson.

Investigators said they ultimately determined the boy had been standing outside a nearby home when the shooting started.

Police said the witness identified both Ms. Jackson and Ms. Johnson in video footage of the shooting.

That footage captured the events before and after the shooting, investigators said. The footage showed a group of seven or eight people getting out of a car on Holmes Street near Hay Street and, eventually Hill Avenue. The recording showed the group running back toward the car just after the initial 911 calls reporting the shooting.

Ms. Jackson remained held without bail in the Allegheny County Jail. Court records did not list an attorney. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 19.
