DEEP-POCKET PASSERS
Former Steelers QBs’ homes run $2.7 million and $1.9 million
You may not be an elite athlete but you can live like one. Now that they have new teams, former Steeler quarterbacks Kenny Pickett and Mitch Trubisky are making moves off the field. They have listed their homes north of Pittsburgh for sale.
“Both homes are beautifully designed and maintained,” said the listing agent for both properties, Sayward Lehman of Piatt Sotheby’s International Realty (www.sothebysrealty.com or 412-471-4900).
The two properties, just like the players who owned them, have distinct styles.
“While Maple Lane holds that stately, Pittsburgh feel of history and charm, Spruce is a newer, Craftsman home built strong,” noted Lehman.
Pickett’s house
Pickett’s six-bedroom, six-bath home at 318 Spruce Lane in Cranberry (MLS. No.1645501) is on the market for $2.7 million and Trubisky’s four-bedroom, 4½-bath home at 515 Maple Lane in Edgeworth (MLS.
No.1643638 ) is offered at $1.9 million.
With more than 8,000 square feet of living space, Pickett’s house was the model home for Infinity Homes’ Laurel Pointe development, which is why it has all the upgrades that come with their luxury collection. The home is being sold completely furnished.
“The furniture selections are top of the line and fit the design of the home,” Lehman said..
The house’s contemporary Craftsman style lends itself to most design applications. There are two covered outdoor entertaining areas, both with fireplaces, an outdoor kitchen, and a stone patiowith decking on the second level.
To warm up after a cold game, the primary bedroom includes a fireplace, lots of natural light and a wall of shelving for a mini library, knickknacks or trophies. The abundance of natural
light in the entire home is due to the large floor-to-ceiling windows throughout.
The family room/living room has a fireplace, more built-ins and two-story windows as a focal point.
“While the home is currently finished, the lower level will be converted back into a finished basement, giving the new owners an opportunity to finalize the design,” Lehman said.
The 0.42-acre property is in a quiet neighborhood but offers easy access to Interstate 79 and is close to shops and restaurants.
“It’s minutes from the shopping and activities that both Cranberry and Wexford haveto offer,” Lehman noted.
Annual taxes are $14,326.
Trubisky’s house
Trubisky’s red-brick Colonial on a 0.75-acre lot in Edgeworth is convenient to shopping and restaurants in Sewickley.
“The over 5,000-square-foot home offers privacy. ... sitting deep in the lot, conveniently located just over a mile from the village of Sewickley and even closer to the high school,”Lehman said.
“Living in the Sewickley area gives you luxuries of a small town, but it is conveniently located minutes from the city, the airport and many other amenities of the northern area of Pittsburgh,” she added.
With a wide brick path, a pitched slate roof and large entrance hall, the house presents a distinguished profile. The magnificent woodwork, including polished hardwood floors and ornate molding in the center hall, speaks to the quality of this house built in 1987.
“The home is finished from top to bottom, with hardwood floors throughout,” Lehman said.
In addition to a large, handsome kitchen, the lower level includes a food prep area for seamless entertaining, especially when using professional caterers.
The owner’s suite is a sprawling space with lots of natural light. There is a large walk-in closet and a marble bathroom featuring a soaking tub. The secondfloor laundry is a nice touch.
The finished basement offers more lounging space, a full bathroom and a dedicated exercise room.
Annual taxes are $28,864.
