Houston guard coming to Pitt
Dunn primarily a reserve in 2023-24
Jeff Capel landed his second transfer portal commitment of the offseason Tuesday when Houston transfer Damian Dunn announced on X his decision to come to Pitt.
Dunn, 6 foot 5 and 205 pounds, joins the Panthers as a graduate transfer with one year of eligibility left. He recently played primarily as a guard off the bench for Houston, the Big 12 champions who earned a No. 1 seed in the NCAA tournament and lost to Duke in the Sweet 16.
After playing four years for Temple, Dunn transferred to Houston and averaged 6.4 points and 2.3 rebounds while shooting 35.9% from the field.
While Dunn wouldn’t be expected to supplant Jaland Lowe or Ishmael Leggett at guard next season, he could be a solid veteran guard option off the bench.
