“Comeback Kids: A Middle School Basketball Story”: Heartwarmi­ng documentar­y that chronicles a team’s 2018 season as they chase a county title.

“Cut, Color, Murder”: Hallmark Movies & Mysteries offering in which a hair stylist teams up with a detective to investigat­e a pageant director’s death.

“Double Down South”: A man who runs an illicit billiards gambling house takes a talented young woman under his wing in this high-stakes thriller.

“Exile”: Psychologi­cal thriller about a man released from prison following a fatal DUI who believes his family will be targeted by a relative of the victims he killed. But is the threat real or the result of a guilty conscious?

“Mister Sleep”: Horror flick in which the titular killer takes bloody revenge on a blearyeyed group of insomnia patients.

“The Last Kingdom: Seven Kings Must Die”: This movie concludes the Netflix series about warring factions in England at the turn of the 10th century.

“The Star City Murders”: A serial killer with unorthodox methods eludes a team of detectives in this crime film.

“The Brink Of”: Romance film about an indie pop duo who may be more than collaborat­ors and bandmates.

NEW MUSIC FRIDAY

Taylor Swift, “The Tortured Poets Department”: The world will stop for a day when the superstar drops her 11th album, which she announced with much fanfare at the Grammys. The followup to 2022’s “Midnights” was produced again by Jack Antonoff and will feature tracks with Post Malone and Florence + the Machine.

Pearl Jam, “Dark Matter”: “No hyperbole, I think this is our best work,” Eddie Vedder said of the band’s 12th album, created in the span of three weeks with producer Andrew Watt. There wlll be a special edition on Record Store Day (April 20).

Cloud Nothings, “Final Summer”: The eighth album from the noisy and stellar Cleveland rock band marks a departure from its longtime label Carpark Records.

Melvins, “Tarantula Heart”: Album 27 from the Pacific Northwest sludge metal legends is a five-song, 39-minute record with double drummers and help from We Are The Asteroid guitar player Gary Chester.

T-Bone Burnett, “The Other Side”: The first album in 20 years from the famed producer and guitarist features contributi­ons from Rosanne Cash, Lucius and Weyes Blood.

Glen Campbell, “Duets: Ghost on the Canvas Sessions”: This posthumous release reworks tracks the country legend recorded in his later years, with added vocals from Brian Wilson, Sting, Dolly Parton, X, Daryl Hall, Carole King, Hope Sandoval and more.

WHAT’S ON TV

“Orlando Bloom: To the Edge” (Thursday, Peacock): Season 1 premiere of adventure series exploring the world’s most unique places with death-defying stunts.

“Conan O’Brien Must Go” (Thursday, Max): Four episode internatio­nal travel series from the former late-night host.

“Young Sheldon” (CBS, 8 p.m. Thursday): Growing up with a genius intellect is never easy. Young Sheldon Cooper (Iain Armitage) handles it with awkwardnes­s.

“9-1-1” (ABC, 8 p.m. Thursday): Peter Krause, Oliver Stark and Angela Bassett star in Season 7 of this procedural series, following emergency response providers as they face unpredicta­ble, high-pressure situations that strike both at work and within their complicate­d personal lives.

“Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” (NBC, 9 p.m. Thursday): Led by their courageous captain, Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay), the NYPD’s elite Special Victims Unit shows special care to the survivors involved in their cases.

“Rebel Moon — Part Two: The Scargiver” (Friday, Netflix): The rebel warriors gear up for battle against the ruthless forces of the Motherworl­d.

“Mary & George” (Starz, 9 p.m. Friday): As Somerset (Laurie Davidson) keeps George (Nicholas Galitzine) on the backfoot, Mary (Julianne Moore) must find a way to make allies fast, or risk losing everything.

“Great Performanc­es” (PBS, 9 p.m. Friday): Augustin Hadelich and Keb’ Mo’, along with Cirque du Soleil acrobats, explore the works of Italian violinist and composer Niccolo Paganini and blues musician and songwriter Robert Johnson.

Red Sox vs. Pirates (Friday, SportsNet Pittsburgh): The Pirates begin a three-game home series against the Boston Red Sox at 6:40 p.m. The series continues at 4:05 p.m. Saturday and 1:35 p.m. Sunday.

NASCAR Xnity Racing Series (Fox, 4 p.m. Saturday): The Ag-Pro 300 is set to broadcast live from the infamous Talladega Superspeed­way in Talladega, Ala. This springtime NASCAR race runs yearly, with drivers tackling the longest oval track in the circuit.

“I Am Patrick Swayze” (CW, 8 p.m. Saturday): This tribute documentar­y looks at the life and career of actor Patrick Swayze, as told through home movies, untold stories and interviews with family and friends.
