The 55th annual Cape Cod Writers Center Conference will be held from August 3 to August 6 at the Resort and Conference Center in Hyannis, Massachuse­tts. The conference features workshops and craft classes in poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction, as well as mentoring sessions with agents. Fiction writer B. A. Shapiro will deliver the keynote. The faculty includes poet Danielle Legros Georges; fiction writers Michelle Hoover, Ron MacLean, and Marcella Pixley; and nonfiction writers Richard Hoffman and James M. Lang. Participat­ing agents include Noah Ballard (Curtis Brown, Ltd.), Kaylee Davis (Dee Mura Literary), Katie Grimm (Don Congdon Associates), Chad Luibl (Janklow & Nesbit Associates), and Sharon Pelletier (Dystel, Goderich, & Bourret). Tuition is $150 for a three-session course, $120 for a two-session course, or $70 for a single workshop. Manuscript consultati­ons are available for an additional $150; query consultati­ons with agents are available for an additional $25. General registrati­on is $75 (free for Cape Cod Writers Center members). Lodging is available at the conference hotel for a discounted rate. The registrati­on deadline is July 21.
