Mark Fish­man of Paris won the Fic­tion Open for “Song­wad Road.” He re­ceived $3,000, and his story will be pub­lished Is­sue 100 of Glim­mer Train Sto­ries. Jes­sica Jo­han­nes­son Gaitán of Bath, England, won the $1,000 sec­ond-place prize for “Bad Lan­guage.” The ed­i­tors judged. The award is given twice yearly for a short story. (SEE DEAD­LINES.)

VERY SHORT FIC­TION AWARD

Zehra Nabi of Bal­ti­more won the Very Short Fic­tion Award for “Cow Killer.” She re­ceived $1,500, and her story will be pub­lished in Is­sue 100 of Glim­mer Train Sto­ries. The ed­i­tors judged. The award is given twice yearly for a short short story. (SEE DEAD­LINES.)
