Four prizes of $15,000 each are given an­nu­ally to U.S. writ­ers to honor books of poetry, fic­tion, gen­eral non­fic­tion, and bi­og­ra­phy or au­to­bi­og­ra­phy (in­clud­ing mem­oir) pub­lished in the United States dur­ing the cur­rent year.
