REA AWARD FOR THE SHORT STORY
Jim Shepard of Williamstown, Massachusetts, won the 2016 Rea Award for the Short Story. Shepard, whose most recent collection is The World to Come (Random House, 2017), received $30,000. Deborah Eisenberg, Amy Hempel, and Joy Williams judged. The annual award is given to honor a U.S. or Canadian writer who has made a significant contribution to the discipline of the short story as an art form. There is no application process.
