James River Writers Conference
The 15th annual James River Writers Conference will be held from October 14 to October 15 at the Greater Richmond Convention Center in Richmond, Virginia. The conference features pitch sessions with editors and agents and panel discussions for fiction writers and creative nonfiction writers. The conference will also offer pre-conference master classes on October 13 at the main branch of the Richmond Public Library. Participants include fiction writers David Baldacci and Meg Medina; nonfiction writers Beth Macy and Margot Lee Shetterly; literary agents Erica Bauman (Aevitas Creative Management), John Bowers (Bent Agency), Ben Grange
(L. Perkins Agency), Annie Hwang (Folio Literary Management), and Cherise Fisher (Wendy Sherman Associates); and editors Jaime Coyne (St. Martin’s Press) and Esi Sogah (Kensington Books). The cost of the conference, which includes some meals and a oneon-one meeting with an agent or editor, is $335, or $195 for a single day. The cost of a master class is an additional $65.
