High-risk sex offender arrested
A high-risk sex offender who was not complying with state guidelines was arrested Tuesday morning, the Porterville Police Department reported.
Louie Ramirez, 34, of Porterville, was arrested without incident at approximately 8:05 a.m. at an address in the 400 block of West Morton Avenue.
The PPD was alerted that Ramirez was wanted by the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation for failing to comply with state guidelines. With assistance from the United States Marshalls Office, officers found Ramirez at the Porterville address.
During a search, Ramirez was in possession of live ammunition and drug paraphernalia. He was arrested for being a convicted sex offender failing to meet registration requirements, convicted felon in possession of ammunition, possession of drug paraphernalia and a parole violation.
Ramirez was transported to the Tulare County Jail where he is being held without bail.
