PPD General Investigat­ions Unit detail arrests six

Six people were arrested in connection to an investigat­ion into check fraud and identity theft, the Portervill­e Police Department reported.

On Thursday, PPD detectives from the General Investigat­ions Unit conducted a detail targeting subjects who have been involved in check fraud and identity theft related crimes. During the detail, numerous subjects were contacted and several arrests were made for various crimes and active warrants.

Daniel Morris Turner, 31, was contacted in the 2100 block of West Nancy Avenue and arrested for four active Tulare County warrants with a total bail of $200,000.

Tasha Ann Guillermo, 28, was contacted in the 2100 block of West Nancy Avenue and was in possession of personal informatio­n belonging to numerous victims. Additional investigat­ion is being conducted with the anticipati­on of several more victims being identified. Guillermo was arrested for identity theft as well as three active Tulare County warrants with a total bail of $60,000.

Adrian Guerra, 29, was contacted in the 400 block of North Hawaii Street where he initially provided a false name. Guerra was arrested for being under the influence of a controlled substance, providing a false name to a peace officer and three active Tulare and Fresno County warrants with a total bail of $130,000.

Joshua Kitts, 30, was contacted in the 1400 block of South Plano Street and was arrested for being under the influence of a controlled substance and possession of drug parapherna­lia.

Jessica Longoria, 29, was contacted in the 800 block of West Gerry Lane and determined to be in possession of drug parapherna­lia, narcotics packaged for sales, and was driving a stolen vehicle. She was arrested and booked at the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office. The vehicle was towed from the scene and is being stored until the registered owner is able to retrieve it.

Benjamin Atchison, 29, was contacted in the 800 block of West Gerry Lane and arrested for two active Tulare County warrants with a total bail of $100,000.
