don helmets and ride sheep like imitation bull riders, at 3:30 p.m. The Profession­al Rodeo Cowboys Associatio­n (PCRA) grand entry and rodeo competitio­n will be held at 6 p.m. that evening. A dance will again conclude the night’s activities beginning at 9 p.m. On Sunday, the BCH breakfast opens at 7 a.m., followed by the cowboy church services at the rodeo grandstand­s at 10 a.m. There will be a pre-rodeo and another Mutton Bustin’ event at 12:30 p.m., followed by the PCRA grand entry and rodeo at 2 p.m. This year’s grand marshal is Mariann Sanders, who owns Shady Oak Ranch.

tthe Internatio­nal Agri-center will host the 25th annual California Antique Farm Equipment Show (CAFES), April 28-30, in Tulare. Hundreds of antique trucks, tractors, engines and farm equipment will be on display during the three-day show. Saturday, April 29, will feature an antique auction, vintage and boutique shopping areas, food trucks, and live entertainm­ent! Activities for kids of all ages include gold mining, pedal pulls, a rock wall, RC cars, carnival games and the famous Pie Eating & Milk Chugging contests. Other highlights include a weekend-long Tulare County 4-H Fair, an antique tractor pull exhibition and the famous fried chicken dinner on Friday evening, the steak dinner on Saturday evening and a pancake breakfast and worship aervice on Sunday morning. tthe Tulare County Symphony ends its season on Saturday, April 29, at the Visalia Fox Theatre with two lively pieces featuring folk music, which has been the theme of the year. Music director Bruce Kiesling returns to Copland and his “Symphony No. 3,” known as the essential American symphony that fuses Copland’s distinct Americana style of ballet with the traditiona­l symphony. Themes from “Fanfare for the Common Man,” which the Symphony performed to open the season, is used in the fourth movement. Pianist Steven Lin returns to perform “Piano Concerto No. 3,” Prokofiev’s most popular piano concerto. The lively piece features French folk dance music, galloping runs up and down the keyboard and a jazzy backbeat. Tickets are $30 to $39.50 at the symphony office, 208 W. tthe U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Sacramento District and Central Valley Veterans Organizati­on are hosting their annual Warrior’s Day on the Lake on Saturday, April 29, at Success Lake. This annual fishing event is in it’s 6th year, and was held at Pine Flat Lake last year with an attendance of up to 70 veterans. This free event gives all wounded warriors a chance to spend a day full of fishing and fun out on the lake. The event will take place at Success Lake near the North Tule boat ramp, and is located in the Sierra Nevada foothills, 8 miles East of Portervill­e. Activities will start off with check in from 7 to 8 a.m., and quickly commence with a few hours of fishing until 11:30 a.m. After that, veterans will have a lunch barbecue at noon that will follow with a raffle. tthe Mighty Oak Chorus will host its 36th annual musical show on Saturday, April 29, in Visalia. “The Happiest Concert On Earth” will feature some of Disney’s greatest songs. There are two performanc­es — a 2 p.m. matinee and a 7:30 p.m. show at Central Valley Christian High School Theater, Akers Avenue and Tulare Street in Visalia. This 36th anniversar­y show also includes a popular Tulare women’s quartet called Tonally Blessed and championsh­ip Fresno men’s quartet, The Front Line. Tickets for the matinee or the evening show are $15 for adults and $7.50 for children age 12 and under. Tickets will be set aside for purchase at the door.
