Kathleen Renee (Koop) Livingston

Our beautiful Kathleen Renee Koop was born January 20, 1964 in Porterville, CA. She was the oldest of three daughters born to Robert and Sally Koop. She grew up in Porterville with her two sisters, Rhonda and Amy Koop. She passed away Monday May 15, 2017 at the age of 53 with family near. Kathleen attended school in Porterville, CA. at Hope Elementary School and Porterville High School. She graduated from PHS with the class of 1982 where she was active in sports and choir. After graduation Kathleen joined the United States Army serving in Germany and the United States. When she returned to Porterville, CA. after her Army service, she worked at Good Shepard Lutheran Homes as a Unit Supervisor. Later she moved to Visalia, CA. where she attended and graduated from Galen College. She worked as a phlebotomist at Tulare District Hospital and took classes at COS. She lived in Exeter, CA. before she moved back to Porterville, CA. in 2005 to help take care of her grandmother. Kathleen was a 30 year cancer survivor. She loved nature and bird watching, especially owls that lived in the trees of her backyard. She collected owl yard art wind chimes, etc. Her favorite thing was wolves. She had them all over inside her home on dream catchers, pictures, plaques, figurines, blankets and her clothing. She also liked Charles Russell Indian pictures. She loved going on the Koop girl’s coast trip every year and going to antique stores and antique festivals with her family. Kathleen was a very caring and loving person and she will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Kathleen is survived by her father, Robert Koop, mother, Sally Koop and sisters Rhonda Koop and Amy Koop, niece Jessica Koop, sister-in-law Emily Koop and the love of her life, Michael O’brien, two aunts, many cousins and treasured friends. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Richard and Florence Koop, Roy and Thelma (Toots) Sanders, three uncles and one aunt.
