Carley is wrong

Editor,

In reference to the commentary by Michael Carley, Porterville Recorder — April 12, 2017, he stated a political protest of an unusual kind: The March for Science, April 22.

In his article he states that conservatives do not support science. I consider myself a conservative, eager to learn facts and discoveries, and a Christian who loves the Lord with all of my heart. I thrill to read details of scientific facts and discoveries. Science is just catching up to the secrets of God’s creation and infinite-majestic wisdom. The trouble with Darwin’s Theory — it misses the main component: “God.” It leaves too many blanks and doesn’t add up. Creation begins with God: adds depth, meaning, love, clarity, awesome wonder, details, order, purpose, relationship, life and light.

In the book I am currently reading by Samuel Rodriguez, entitled: “Belight,” he begins each chapter with some scientific finding and aspect of light. In chapter 20, he states: “On December 27, 2004, astronomers detected a flash of energy from across our Milky Way Galaxy so powerful that it bounced off the moon and lit up earth’s atmosphere. The flash, which lasted more than one-tenth of a second, was brighter than anything ever detected from beyond our solar system. Scientists later determined the flash of energy came from a magnetar — the neutron star SGR 180620 — some 50,000 light years away in an area of earth’s sky known as the constellation Sagittarius.” “..... For one-tenth of a second, the giant flare unleashed more energy than the sun emits in 150,000 years.” Wow!

There it is. “The Big Bang” Theory! Scientists were correct. As God spoke, “Let there be Light” in a dark world, of course it would be a giant explosion. Then creation followed with life, both plant and human, etc.

Isn’t it exciting to learn facts and reality? Also God is love. Verla Everett
