SATURDAY the inaugural Boots, Brews and Bacon Festival at the Visalia Convention Center will take place on Saturday, July 29. The Boots, Brews and Bacon Festival is a beer tasting festival designed to build the appreciati­on of craft brew all while listening to live music and enjoying what else, bacon. The festival will take place indoors in the air conditione­d building from 6 to 10 p.m. (VIP at 5:30 p.m.) on July 29 and will feature craft beers, both from local distributo­rs and breweries and local restaurant­s providing samples that have bacon front and center. Tickets are $30 in advance, $35 day of event, groups of 10 or more $25, and $75 VIP (only 100 VIP are available). This is a 21 and older only event, proof of age will be required at the door. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 5. Tickets can be purchased at the Visalia Convention Center Box Office, Monday through Friday, or online at www.visaliatix.com.

the Tule River Tribe Council along with Tulare County Step Up will be holding a resource fair to prepare Tule River Tribal Youth for school. The event will be held at the Tule River Gym on Saturday, July 29, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The first 300 to arrive will receive backpacks and school supplies. Throughout the event, activities like a scavenger hunt, and cultural demonstrat­ions will take place. Informatio­n and resource booths will also be set up inside the gym. The youth are encouraged to participat­e in the resource scavenger hunt to learn more about each informatio­nal booth set up at the event. after a successful year of improved parent involvemen­t at Woodville Elementary School, they will be hosting a friendly summer celebratio­n for parents and students on Sunday, July 30. The event will consist of several friendly fun activities, among them a barbecue, video presentati­on, games for all ages, and music to dance. The school will also be having lessons in demonstrat­ion called “Numbers Talk,” guided reading, and English Learner Advisory Committee. the photos of Ginny (Virginia) Wilson will be on display through August in what she is calling “The Last Picture Show” at the Lindsay Museum and Gallery. The exhibit opens on Sunday, July 30, 2017 with a reception from 2-4 p.m. The exhibit will run through the month of August at the Lindsay Museum and Gallery 165 N. Gale Hill Ave., Lindsay.
