Fronia "Button" Lapere

Button was born August 13, 1935 to Frank & Madeline Blamble of Oakland, MD, attended school in Oakland and graduated from Southern Garrett County High School in June of 1953. She and her husband Dave G. Lapere just celebrated 49 years of marriage on July 6th of this year.

She is survived by her husband Dave of Portervill­e, a son David C. of Portervill­e, two more sons in Tennessee, the oldest being Shawn Livesay of Jefferson City, TN. She also leaves a sister, Jannie of Oakland, MD, and younger brother Jon of Killbuck, NY, nephews John & Chuck of Oakland, and plenty of cousins, a stepdaught­er in S.E. Michigan named Chris, in addition she has 5 grandchild­ren, and 2 great grandchild­ren.

Button began her nursing career years ago after graduating as an LVN in 1957 from Univ. of Maryland at Morgantown.

She moved from Maryland to Michigan in 1965 where she went to work for Wyandotte General Hospital, where she met her 2nd husband Dave. Seven months after giving birth to David C. they moved out to California where Dave's brother Ron resided.

She went back to school to earn her psychiatri­c technician's license and went to work for the State of California at Laterman in Pomona. In 1979 she along with her husband transferre­d to the Portervill­e area. She worked a total of 41 years for the State of California, retiring in 2009.

She was a very loving mother, wife, grandmothe­r, and great grandmothe­r. She was a friend to all, never knew a stranger and she will be sorely missed by all of us who knew her and loved her.

Rosary will be held on Tuesday, August 1 at 6:00 p.m. at Myers Chapel, funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 2 at St. Anne's Church at 11:00 a.m.
