tulare County Library celebrates the most recent total solar eclipse with an event presented by Janet Wood at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 13, in the Visalia Library Blue Room. As a volunteer for NASA’S Jet Propulsion Laboratory public outreach program, Solar System Ambassadors, Wood will feature highlights from this year’s Total Solar Eclipse Tour. Come hear about her journey to the eclipse destination atop Rendezvous Mountain in Wyoming and the stops she made along the way. Enjoy a walk through prehistoric fossil beds, the volcanic world of the craters of the moon and the fascinating geological history of Idaho, Wyoming and even the Grand Tetons National Park. Learn of the world-class endangered raptor conservation program and gain insight into the solar eclipse phenomenon. With both modern science and historical mythology, this event is truly stellar! m “total Solar Eclipse: Nature’s Most Awesome Spectacle” is sponsored by the Sierra Club’s Mineral King Group and the Friends of the Tulare County Library in partnership with the Tulare County Library.
