The Porterville City Library’s Adult Learning Center will hold a special Family Literacy Day event from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 16 at Centennial Park. The event is in honor of Adult Literacy Awareness Month and literacy tutors, adult learners and their families along with the community are invited. The focus of the month is to expand awareness about the need for adult literacy services in nearby communities and to recruit new tutors and other volunteers to support those programs.
