Larry Standlee was born in Southern California on February 28, 1935 to John and Rosalie Standlee and passed into eternal life on September 19, 2017. He was a former resident of Portervill­e, CA. and lived the last four years of his life in Sacramento, CA, with his son and daughter-in-law.

Graveside service will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Park on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at 10:00 am.

Larry was proceeded in death by his wife of 47 years Ellajean Standlee. He is survived by his son, Mike Standlee and daughter-in-law Linda Standlee; daughter, Michele Buller and son-inlaw Martin Buller; and daughter Melissa Webb and son-in-law Rodney Webb. He leaves behind eight grandchild­ren, Rachael (Gerad) Faulks, John (Gretchen) Standlee, Randa (Jay) Ward, Levi (Jeanette) Stewart, Joshua (Andrea) Stewart, Madisyn Stewart, Matthew Webb, and Bethany (Zach) Lerma; seven great grandchild­ren, Nickolas Ward, Brooklynn Ward, Noah Stewart, Nathan Graham, Emily Graham, Isabella Lerma, and a grandson (8) due to be born in November; as well as his sister, Delores Nein, brother, Ron Standlee and sister-inlaw, Janie Standlee.

Larry was a graduate of Portervill­e High School and attended Portervill­e College, studying Architectu­re. In1958 he joined the U. S. Navy, serving in the Sea Bees in Guam, where he learned the trade of refrigerat­ion. Later that year, he married his wife, Ellajean Miller. After his discharge from military service, Larry began his career at Gray’s Air Conditioni­ng and worked as a service manager. He later, along with his wife Ellajean, owned and operated their own business Standlee’s Air Conditioni­ng in Portervill­e, CA.

Larry was a gifted man with a wonderful sense of humor. He loved telling stories and jokes, played in musicals at the Barn Theater, and charmed his family and friends with his harmonious voice. He was a member of the American Legion and was an avid baseball fan. He loved to watch his Atlanta Braves, never missing a game.

He was a beloved husband, father, grandfathe­r, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. He was a man of faith and integrity. He was trustworth­y and kind. Larry touched many lives. He was a truly remarkable man. Larry loved his family, and held a very special place in his heart for his grandchild­ren and great grandchild­ren. He considered himself to be very blessed.

The truth is, we who knew him are the ones who are blessed to have been a part of his life. He will be greatly missed. Larry now sits in heavenly places alongside his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and the loved ones who have gone before him.
