Panthers girls water polo open EYL with win

With the help of 10 different scorers, Porterville girls water polo defeated Tulare Western 23-2 in Thursday’s East Yosemite League homeopener.

Shyanne Rainey led Porterville with five goals followed by Rosemary Chapman with four and Alyssa Bodoh with three. Allie Whitten, Johanna Scheer and Kaylinn Holterman each scored two goals while Mallory Tate, Sophia Paternoster and Tristin Bennett each chipped in a goal. Chapman also had three assists while Scheer and Whitten had one. Goalie Samantha Rainey had 13 blocks.

The Panthers have an overall record of 12-4.
