White River Prospectors, the Porterville Chapter of the Gold Prospectors Association of America, meets the first Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at the Gold Hills Clubhouse at 720 E. Worth Dr. in Porterville. The meetings, and membership in the chapter, are free and open to the public. Members participate in gold panning, prospecting, metal detecting, outings and informative meetings. Teaching opportunities are also available.
