Veterans Day Open, Close

Veterans Day falls on a Saturday this year, but some Porterville and Lindsay city offices are marking it a day early. City and county government offices, courts and public schools are closed on Friday, Nov. 10, though most banks will be open.

Some other workers, including mail carriers, get Saturday off to mark the holiday. Here’s a look at how Veterans Day is impacting the city so you can plan ahead for the weekend:

Friday, Nov. 10

• City and county government offices and courts are closed.

• City library is open normal hours.

• Public schools are closed.

• Porterville College campus is closed.

• Mail delivery will happen as usual.

• Trash pickup — commercial and residential — will stick to the regular schedule.

• Most banks will be open. TDMV will be closed.

• Porterville Transit buses will be on weekend schedule, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Saturday, Nov. 11

• City and county government offices and all public library branches are closed.

• There will be no mail delivery.

• Most banks will be closed.

• Porterville Transit buses will be on normal schedule, 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
