Juan Vega Camacho

Juan Vega Camacho, 92 years old, resident of Visalia, California (most of his life he was a resident of Lindsay, California), passed away November 10, 2017 at Kaweah Delta Hospital.

He was born on June 25, 1925, to Jose and Martha Camacho in Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico. After living as a young man in Texas he migrated to California where he became a US Citizen. He worked in cotton fields in Texas and as a migrant farmworker in California, Oregon and Washington. In 1968 after many years of working as a migrant farmworker, He and his wife Graciela decided to settle their family in Lindsay, California and worked for Sierra Citrus, where they both retired.

He and his beloved wife, Graciela raised 10 children, Ruben, Arturo, Esmeralda (Virgie), Alicia, Bette, Linda, Martha, Gracie, Juan and Javier. He will be greatly missed by all his children, 26 grandchild­ren and 21 great grandchild­ren.

He loved God, his wife, his family, his community and this country. His friends and family knew him for his hard work ethics; story telling, generosity (no one ever left hungry from his home). In his free time, Juan loved to garden and grow many fruits and vegetables.

Visitation will be Thursday, November 16, 2017 at Webb Sanders & Smith Funeral Home in Lindsay, California from 1pm to 7pm with Rosary at 6:00pm. Funeral services will be held at 10:00am Friday, November 17, 2017 at Sacred Heart Church, Lindsay California where mass will be held. Interment will follow at Lindsay Cemetery also in Lindsay, California with a celebratio­n of Mr. Camacho’s life immediatel­y following.

Memorials or donations may be made to Sacred Heart Church in Lindsay, California.
