Juan Vega Ca­ma­cho

Juan Vega Ca­ma­cho, 92 years old, res­i­dent of Visalia, Cal­i­for­nia (most of his life he was a res­i­dent of Lind­say, Cal­i­for­nia), passed away Novem­ber 10, 2017 at Kaweah Delta Hos­pi­tal.

He was born on June 25, 1925, to Jose and Martha Ca­ma­cho in Mata­moros, Ta­mauli­pas, Mex­ico. Af­ter liv­ing as a young man in Texas he mi­grated to Cal­i­for­nia where he be­came a US Ci­ti­zen. He worked in cot­ton fields in Texas and as a mi­grant farm­worker in Cal­i­for­nia, Ore­gon and Wash­ing­ton. In 1968 af­ter many years of work­ing as a mi­grant farm­worker, He and his wife Gra­ciela de­cided to set­tle their fam­ily in Lind­say, Cal­i­for­nia and worked for Sierra Citrus, where they both re­tired.

He and his beloved wife, Gra­ciela raised 10 chil­dren, Ruben, Ar­turo, Es­mer­alda (Vir­gie), Ali­cia, Bette, Linda, Martha, Gra­cie, Juan and Javier. He will be greatly missed by all his chil­dren, 26 grand­chil­dren and 21 great grand­chil­dren.

He loved God, his wife, his fam­ily, his com­mu­nity and this coun­try. His friends and fam­ily knew him for his hard work ethics; story telling, gen­eros­ity (no one ever left hun­gry from his home). In his free time, Juan loved to gar­den and grow many fruits and veg­eta­bles.

Visi­ta­tion will be Thurs­day, Novem­ber 16, 2017 at Webb San­ders & Smith Funeral Home in Lind­say, Cal­i­for­nia from 1pm to 7pm with Rosary at 6:00pm. Funeral ser­vices will be held at 10:00am Fri­day, Novem­ber 17, 2017 at Sa­cred Heart Church, Lind­say Cal­i­for­nia where mass will be held. In­ter­ment will fol­low at Lind­say Ceme­tery also in Lind­say, Cal­i­for­nia with a cel­e­bra­tion of Mr. Ca­ma­cho’s life im­me­di­ately fol­low­ing.
