Fredrick Lee Orth

Fredrick Lee Orth of Porterville, California, died peacefully Nov. 12, 2017. He was 87.
A Nebraska native, Mr. Orth attended private Catholic schools and graduated from Porterville High School in 1950. He served his country proudly as a U.S. Naval seaman from 1951 to 1955 and was aboard the USS Henderson during the Korean War. After his honorable discharge, Mr. Orth returned to the valley where he met and married Judith Anne Caudle. They were married for 62 years and had four children.
A skilled craftsman, Mr. Orth worked a variety of jobs during his life, including sheet metal fabrication and pump installations. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping, and supported his children in their various activities, particularly as members of the Porterville Panther Band.
Mr. Orth was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Fredrick and Lena Orth, his sister Donna Lesneski, and his brother Dean Orth. He is survived by his wife Judy, and their children: David Orth and his wife Shelley; Liane Stults and her husband Scott; Linda Johnson and her husband Brett; and Lynette Hill and her husband Robbie. Mr. Orth also is survived by 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren with the sixth due in January.
