Lindsay council awards tree trimming services
Clean Cut Landscape and Evergreen Landscape & Sprinklers will provide services
The Lindsay City Council agreed Tuesday to award palm tree and tree trimming services contracts to Clean Cut Landscape Management, Inc. and Evergreen Landscape & Sprinklers, Inc.
Michael Camarena, the city services director, said the city will pay Clean Cut Landscape Management, Inc., based in Clovis, $16,702 to handle a portion of the city’s palm tree trimming, and will pay Evergreen Landscape & Sprinklers, Inc., based in Tulare, $6,550 to handle palm tree trimming on 911 N. Parkside, Sierra View Estates Subdivision, and Chinese Pistachio tree trimming in Lindsay’s downtown and tree trimming and removal on Lindsay’s City Hall block.
Camarena said city staff has typically been able to bid tree trimming services on an informal basis in past years. This year, he said it was not possible to meet the requirements of the city purchasing procedures with the different sizes of the trees identified in the scope of work. As staff was not able to obtain bids within purchasing procedures, Camarena said it was necessary to assemble bid documents and release this bid package to qualified contractors in a five-contract package.
“Approval of this request will benefit the City of Lindsay as it assists in meeting the council objectives identified,” Camarena said.
