A man was arrested Saturday morning after reportedly shooting at cars in Pixley, the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office reported.

At approximately 7:37 a.m. Saturday, deputies responded to the area of Elm and Maple streets in Pixley for multiple 911 calls of a male subject shooting at occupied cars in the area.

During the investigation, it was discovered that a male subject walking in the area had fired a shotgun at two cars passing his location. A third victim advised the subject pointed the shotgun at him, but did not fire. None of the victims were injured during the incident.

The suspect then entered a nearby business wielding the shotgun and stole a company vehicle from the parking area. The vehicle and weapon were soon located by deputies in the area.

The suspect was identified as Jesus Chavez with information obtained from witnesses. Chavez was soon apprehended in Delano.

Additional evidence located during the investigation reportedly linked Chavez with a shooting that had occurred on Dec. 9 in the Terra Bella area in which the victim is recovering from his wounds. Chavez was charged and booked into the Tulare County Jail on suspicion of attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon and vehicle theft.
