A celebratio­n of life will be held on January 8 at the Vision Calvary Chapel, 20220 Rd. 196, Lindsay for Arline Caroline (Aeschbache­r) Hilty who passed away January 1. Pastor Ryan Ruckman will officiate and interment will be private.

Arline was born August 4, 1921 in Versailles Missouri, the daughter of a farmer. The family moved to the Strathmore area when she was a very young girl. Arline attended grade school and high school in Strathmore. She went on to earn a teaching degree from the University of Laverne. After college, she returned to Strathmore and married Calvin Hilty on September 21, 1946 at the Lindsay Brethren Church, now known as Vision Calvary Chapel. Arline taught first grade in the Lindsay school district for several years, until she and Calvin started a family. After her teaching career, she was a devoted homemaker, wife and mother. She was also very active in the Brethren Church as an organist, pianist, and Sunday School teacher. Arline served as president of Sunnyside School PTO, and served on the board of the Strathmore Woman's Club. She was active in 4-H and was a cooking instructor. In addition she will be remembered as making counted cross-stitch for family and friends, canning hundreds of quarts of fruit every summer, and she loved to entertain relatives and friends, often with little or no notice. Arline was a beloved wife, mother, grandmothe­r and friend. She is survived by her children Wanda Thompson (Brad) of Exeter, Norma Goings (Randy) of Strathmore, Duane Hilty (Carol) of Strathmore, Jim Hilty (Sandra) of San Ramon, twelve grandchild­ren, eighteen great-grandchild­ren, and numerous other relatives and friends.

No visitation is planned.
