DUCOR TCSO: 56 bee hives stolen
Detectives from the Tulare County Agriculture investigation Unit were contacted and advised of a theft of bee hives from a storage area near the town of Ducor.
Detectives responded to the location and discovered that 56 bee hives valued at $270 (each), had been stolen from the location between late December 2017 and Tuesday, Jan. 23, by unknown suspects. Each hive was a wooden box painted white and marked, “GRIGGS HONEY” on one side.
Detectives and Technicians from the Cyber Forensic Investigations Unit processed the scene for evidence.

PORTERVILLE Bank of the Sierra to hold 40th Anniversary Playground Grand Reveal Feb. 2
Bank of the Sierra will hold its 40th Anniversary Playground Grand Reveal event at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 2 at the Porterville Sports Complex.
The event is kid friendly and fun for the whole family.
The festivities will kick off promptly at 3:30 p.m. Children ages 5-12 can look forward to face painting, balloon animals, free giveaways and raffles to win lots of awesome prizes.
The event will be capped with a ceremonial toast complete with milk and cookies.
EARLIMART Storage container broken into overnight
Tulare County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded Tuesday, Jan. 23, morning to the area of Avenue 56 and Road 112 in Earlimart, in regards to a theft.
The reporting party advised unknown subjects stole approximately $720 in property from a storage container sometime overnight. The case remains under investigation.

LINDSAY Shrove Tuesday Pancake Dinner is Feb. 13
St. James Anglican Church is hosting the annual Shrove Tuesday Pancake Dinner on Tuesday, Feb. 13, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Lindsay Memorial Building.
Cost is $6 at the door for the pancake supper, raffle and music.
