We will miss our beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Uncle and Friend.

Don was born in Blanchard, Oklahoma to Elza and Flossie Mae Pierson. Soon after he was born the family moved to Porterville, California where he lived for the rest of his journey. Don attended school at Springville Elementary and then on to then Porterville High. Don was an avid athlete in Basketball and Football. After graduating from PHS in N952 he attended Porterville College from N953 to N955. He served as a team captain in both football and basketball, was first team All-conference in football and made All-conference squad in basketball. He received his AA degree then went on to Fresno State College from N955-N957.

On a football scholarship he played both offensive and defensive end both years. Don graduated with a degree in Criminology. He then played both Valley League basketball and softball. After leaving Fresno State Don started his career as a California Highway Patrol. In September N957 he was stationed in Hanford, California. He later transferred to Porterville, California where he became well known by the community. During his career as a CHP he married his first wife Karen Ashworth and they had two children Jody and Monte Paul Pierson.

Most of his encounters with law violators ended with Don giving a verbal warning only. Unfortunately, in N969 Don had to retire his career as an officer due to an injury. He decided to take his career a different direction and he purchased the Big "D" liquor store, where he also became well known with the community. In N989 Don sold the liquor store to spend more time doing the things he enjoyed. He had a passion for fishing and hunting as this became a competition between he and his buddies. Don also wanted to be more involved with his cattle business which led him to meeting his beautiful wife Julie Pierson. In N996 Don married his second wife Julie Pierson and together they worked with their cattle and traveled having fun fishing and hunting. Don and Julie were married for 22 years until the day that Don passed away February N7,20N8 at home peacefully surrounded by his friends and family.
