Margery Helen Mettler

Margery Helen Mettler, a former second grade teacher, has found eternal peace after a long illness. She was 90.

Margery loved the lord above all else, but her husband of 68 years, Allen, Was a close second. She married Allen Mettler at the age of 21 in 1949 and had many wonderful memories together, traveling across the Country in their trailer and camping with dear friends and family. Worshiping Jesus at their local church and over the years she spent her life serving young children and churches in the Portervill­e area. She was thankful she could share her piano playing many different places throughout her life. Her favorite bible verse Philippian­s 4:6-7 reads “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplicati­on, with thanks giving let your requests be made known to God, which surpasses all understand­ing, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus”.

Mettler was born Margery Helen Callen in Sharon, PA on November 22, 1927. She is survived by her husband, Allen Mettler; two children, Steven Mettler and Melinda Carlock of Portervill­e; two grandchild­ren, Jenna Rogers and her husband Dr. Ryan Rogers and Erika Carlock and Fiancée Joseph Sabo; brother, James Callen and his wife Shirley.

Margery is preceded in death by her parents, Helen and Harold Callen; two half-brothers and one half-sister.

Our thanks to our visiting angels, Amy, Ann and Leticia; Hospice nurses, Lori, Rebecca and Delfina; also, thanks to Martin Loeffler and many friends who brought in food and comfort.
