Council to hold priority project study session May 8
Will also hold preliminary budget study session for 2018-19 fiscal year
The Porterville City Council approved Tuesday the scheduling of its priority project and preliminary budget study session for the 2018-19 fiscal year to begin at 5:30 p.m. in the council chambers on May 8.
The council also approved the ability for members of council to submit three priority projects for consideration.
In preparation for the current year’s priority projects, the council permitted each member of council be allowed to submit three priorities for the council to consider at the study session.
In the adopted current fiscal year priority projects, Mayor Milt Stowe listed tertiary treatment, street improvements and recreation facility as his top projects.
Vice Mayor Brian Ward listed library remodel, sports complex completion, arterial streets exceed 70 PCI, community recreation center and Henry Street Park improvements as his top picks.
Councilmember Martha Flores listed Villa Street Bridge Slough Crossing, Westwood Bridge and Union Avenue Reconstruction Indiana to Jaye Streets as her priority projects.
Councilmember Cameron Hamilton listed Henry Street Park Improvements, Animal Shelter Facility and Community Garden Southeast corner of D Street and Morton Avenue as his picks.
Councilmember Monte Reyes listed Henderson Avenue Reconstruction Villa to Plano Streets, Union Avenue Reconstruction Indiana to Jaye Streets and Murry Park Disc Golf Course as his picks.
