“It felt amazing,” Bedolla said. “It was amazing.

The Grizzlies have Thursday, April 26 lost to the Spartans five times this season and looked like they could go 0-6 against Strathmore after falling behind 4-1 in the top of the sixth. But Granite Hills wasn’t ready to hang their hats and they loaded the bases in the bottom of the inning by reaching on a walk, an error and a hitby-pitch with Jason Alvarez, Randy Leon and Bedolla, respective­ly. All three scored on basesloade­d walks to tie the game.

The Grizzlies were dealt six walks and had just four hits. Alvarez and Bedolla scored two runs apiece with Alvarez recording a hit. Leon also had an RBI.

“It’s discouragi­ng to lose a game like this today,” SHS head coach Thad Reece said. “We had a [three] run lead and then we started walking the world and you can’t walk and let a team get back in the game, especially when they’re a rival.”

Jordan Flores took the win on the mound for the Grizzlies after going 2 2/3 innings in relief. Flores gave up no runs on three strikeouts, three intentiona­l walks and two hits. Bedolla had the start on the mound and went 5 1/3 innings with four runs allowed on five strikeouts, four walks and three hits. Both coaches spoke about how well the two pitched with Reece saying he “tipped his hat” to the two for throwing strikes and getting ahead in the count while Garcia commended the two for throwing their off-speed pitches well.

For Strathmore, William Reece and Arley Landis had two hits each and both Alex Barnes and Jacob Flores had RBIS. Lindsay 15 Woodlake 4

Lindsay High School baseball defeated Woodlake 15-4 on the road in Monday’s East Sequoia League game.

The Cardinals (11-12, 7-4 ESL) sealed the win in the fifth inning where they scored seven runs. Edgar Silva led the team at the plate going 2-for-3 with a double, an RBI and three runs scored. Ryan Scheufele was 2-for-3 with two RBIS and two runs scored while David Jimenez went 1-for-2 with a double and two RBIS. Julio Godoy also had a double and an RBI.

Scheufele picked up the win on the mound after coming in relief in the bottom of the second inning and pitching 2 2/3 innings. Godoy struckout the side to finish the game.

Lindsay hosts Corcoran on Wednesday at 4 p.m. The Cardinals need one more league win to secure a playoff spot.

SWIMMING

Strathmore 205 Lindsay 114

St ra th more high school boys and girls swim team beat Lindsay 205-114 in combined points Thursday in an East Sequoia League meet at home.

Sam Dieterle, Aimee Alarcon and Tisha Tolentio each won two individual events for the Spartans. Dieterle won the 200-yard freestyle (2 minutes and 26.49 seconds) and the 500-yard freestyle (6:39.68), Alarcon won the 100-yard butterfly (1:07.12) and 200-yard individual medley (2:33.49), and Tolentino won the 50 free (28.28) and the 100-yard backstroke (1:11.10). Paulina Cemo also won the 100 free (1:07.64).

Cemo, Tolentino, Alarcon and Dieterle teamed up to win the 200 medley relay and the 200 free relay with times of 2:12.37 and 1:57.86, respective­ly.

For Lindsay, Fatima Torres (1:32.04) won the 100-yard breaststro­ke. Torres, along with Audrey Bradford, Alexis Leon and Kaylee Lara also won the 400 free relay with a time of 5:22.11.

The Strathmore boys team swept first in all events with Owen Patterson winning both the 50 free (26.01) and 500 free (5:52.99) while Ashton King won both the 100 butterfly (59.91) and 100 backstroke (1:05.56).

Also for the Spartans, Cody Allen (2:27.46) won the 200 free, Moses Bower (2:19.68) won the 200 IM, Braden Foxley (56.99) won the 100 free and Cotter Ashcraft (1:11.26) won the 100 breaststro­ke.

Samuel Wilkinson, along with King, Ashcraft and Bower won the 200 medley relay (1:55.18) while Wilkinson, King, Bower and Foxley won the 200 free relay (1:41.95). Patterson, Wilkinson, Bower and Foxley joined to win the 400 free relay (4:00.93).
