Shirlee Pauline Shepard lived 96 years, with 78 of those years in the Portervill­e community. She passed away on Friday, May 4, 2018. Shirlee was a part of The Greatest Generation with her formative years and beliefs developed during The Great Depression and World War II.

Shirlee was born in 1922 in Colorado to Helen Esser and Alfred Fabrizio. After moving to California, Shirlee met Charles William Shepard, whom she would marry in November 1942. Bill and Shirlee spent 64 years together with many momentous occasions at Camp Nelson, River Island Country Club, and Kauai, Hawaii. She was trained in the nursing profession, and devoted her time and efforts to her husband, children, grandchild­ren, the family farm, and her many German Shepherds. She survived her husband Bill by 12 years.

As the family compass, "Grammy" will be remembered with poise and strength.

Shirlee is survived by her children Kathleen White, Barbara Brownfield, and Mark Shepard, 8 grandchild­ren, 13 great grandchild­ren, and 2 great great grandchild­ren.

A Rosary will be held Tuesday, May 15th at Myers Funeral Home in Portervill­e at 6:00 PM. Private Mass at St. John's Catholic Church in Tipton will be held Wednesday, May 16th at 10:00 AM with graveside service and interment following at St. Anne's Cemetery.
