PORTERVILLE Tree Planting along the Tule River Parkway
The Tule River Parkway Association with the help of the Noon Rotary of Porterville, City of Porterville and Porterville Unified School District are having a tree planting Saturday morning, May 12, along the Tule River Parkway. People are asked to meet at 8 a.m. in the Sears parking lot on Jaye Street just south of the river in Porterville.
The event is scheduled to end at noon.
Please wear sturdy shoes and wear sun protection. If possible, bring a shovel to share. Water will be provided.

TULARE Body found on Avenue 248 Friday
Tulare County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded Friday morning to the 12000 block of Avenue 248, in Tulare, regarding the discovery of a body. Violent Crimes Detectives responded to the scene at about 6:39 a.m. and took over the investigation.
The victim is believed to be a male adult, 25-40 years of age.
This case is currently under investigation as a homicide.

PIXLEY Home reportedly burglarized Wednesday
Tulare County Sheriff’s Office deputies from the Pixley Substation responded Wednesday to a report of a residential burglary. Upon arrival at about 7:25 a.m., deputies contacted the victim who reported someone gained entry into the residence in the 1000 block of East Stanford Avenue in Pixley and took items from inside.
Loss was valued at $440.
