James L. Simpson

James Lindsay Simpson, of Bridgeport, California, and Reno, Nevada, was born on August 24, 1939 in Porterville, California to Clyde and Ruth Simpson.

He passed away at age 78 on May 1, 2018 in Reno, Nevada after a long illness.

James attended Porterville High School and Fresno State University. He was the owner of gas stations in Bridgeport and Porterville, California , as well as Simpson's Delta Discount Tire Store in Reno, Nevada.

James is survived by his wife of 60 years, Dixie Lee Simpson, his seven sons and spouses, John and Susan Simpson, Michael Simpson, Steven Simpson, David and Holly Simpson, Matthew Simpson, Mark and Molly Simpson, and Jason Simpson; seven daughters and spouses, Lisa and Scott Banner, Julia and Scott Schwendiman, Linda Moore, Laura and David Layer, Jennifer and Troy Stones, Amy Simpson, and Katherine Lucas; brother and spouse, Paul and Marilyn Simpson and sisters, Enid Nichols and Nancy Guralnick.

He is also survived by 43 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

He enjoyed running, basketball, football, biking, and reading. He was a High Priest in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

His funeral was held on Monday, May 7, 2018 and officiated by Bishop Jon Hiatt. He was laid to rest at Mountain View Cemetery in Reno, Nevada. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you donate to your favorite charity.
