Porterville Fair and the community is invited to celebrate this momentous milestone May 9 through May 13. This year the fair will be celebrating 70 years and its rich history in the community dating back to
1948. Don’t miss out on the fun and festivities for our 70-year celebration. Join the excitement early by purchasing season passes, parking passes, and pay one price (POP) carnival wristbands starting April 4, at the Porterville Fair Office. For the first time in years, the Porterville Fair is pleased to bring a concert to our event lineup on Saturday, May 12 featuring Wade Hayes; concert entry is free with fair admission. Fresh, local fruits and vegetables, home-cooked foods, hand-crafted articles and collectables are offered. For booth space or information, call Ralph at 544-4069. The Rollin’ Relics Car Club of Porterville 18th Annual Car and Motorcycle Show will take place Saturday, May 12, at the park on the corner of Henderson and Newcomb streets. Car show registration is from 8 to 10 a.m., show starts at 9 a.m. and ends at 2:30 p.m. with the awards and pictures of the car and motorcycle winners. Various local businesses and merchants trophies, will be presented to those participating in the show. Also included are two memorial trophies honoring Leland Ware and Ron
Pack. Five major trophies will be awarded to the cars or pickups in the following categories: Engine, Paint, Upholstery and Best of Show. Best Motorcycle, will conclude the major trophies. Raffle prize tickets, crafts, food and drinks will be available for purchase all day long. Raffle prize winners will be drawn throughout the day. The show is open to all year models, with no restriction, as well as under construction vehicles. Pre-registration fee is $25 and $30 on the day of the show, which includes event T-shirt. Friday Cruise night starts at 5 p.m., with a show and shine, and ends whenever, with drawing for the 50/50. Hundreds of spectators will be viewing the free show at both the Cruise Night and car and motorcycle show Friday night, May 11, from 5-7 p.m., will offer another opportunity for pre-registration. This will be held again at the Porterville Pizza Factory. Entry forms are available at Sierra Street Rods, Designs by Dillon and various businesses’ around town. Registration forms are also in the show program guide. There is still craft vendor space available at $25 per vendor booth. Non-profit, informationonly booths are available at no charge. For more show information about registering, call Danny at 359-6099. t Join us as Tulare County Library celebrates the grand opening of the Pixley Branch Library, on Saturday, May 12. Festivities begin at 10 a.m. with speakers, a ribbon cutting at 11 a.m., and an open house with storytime, crafts, and cake until 2 p.m. The new Pixley Branch Library is located at 927 S. Center St., B in Pixley. The newest Tulare County Library branch in
Pixley will be the hub of the southwest part of Tulare County. Previously, the Pixley Branch Library was
part of a joint-use library facility with the Pixley Union School District. The Pixley Foundation acquired space for a new library branch next to the CSET Community Center at 927 S. Center St., A. The Tulare County Library, working
with the Pixley Foundation, Tulare County Library Foundation, and State of California renovated the 2,800 square foot facility for library services to include public computers, Wi-fi, and a literacy center. Other features include a teen space, a toddler area, a meeting room, and a computer lab. The Tulare County Library serves all the
citizens of Tulare County with locations in seventeen communities, four book machines, two adult literacy centers, and online at www.tularecountylibrary.org. Like the Library on

FFA members will cross the auction block doing their best to win a bid selling more than 400 animals at the Jr. Livestock Auction.
The Auction will begin at 9 a.m. with the Commercial Bred Heifers followed by the Grand Champion Market Animals at 10 a.m. The Heritage Hog will be sold at noon. For more information on the Sale or the Porterville Fair, call 781-6582.
