MOTHER’S GIFT

- Sylvia Harral Michele Stewartbuller

Why is Mother so special? Because, it was in her body that we grew from a single cell to the whole community of cells. Then we laid in her arms nine months later.

How did we do that? It was simple. Each cell followed the Creator’s design and did two things, 1) Absorbed nutrients from Mother’s body; and 2) Did its function. Now, even though we’ve left Mother’s body, the simplicity has remained our modeof-operation. Our cells continue to absorb nutrients and function, and we pass this simplicity on to our children.

It’s all about the nutrients? While we were busy making ourselves, Mother’s body was busy supplying our needed nutrients. Her body knew we could not hang out in there and use her nutrients forever, so it began to prepare a special gift for us. Her body is designed to make sure we survive after we leave her, and her gift gives us the ability to harvest, create and absorb our own nutrients.

Once we finished building our stomach and intestines, we need living workers to operate, clean, and keep them in top working order. The living workers do all kinds of microscopic jobs like build our immune system after we’re born. They set up factories that make vitamins and enzymes. They will even make antibiotics when we need them. It is the living workers that regulate our body functions and insure our ability to heal. They even produce hundreds of substances the brain uses to learn, remember, and be in a good mood. When it’s time to adapt to new situations the living workers are there running the survival lines.

The living workers are so small we can’t see them. They come from the bacteria kingdom, but they’re the good guys. There are bad bacteria as well, but when we have a full crew of good guys, the bad guys are easily controlled.

The gift of life and health our Mother gives us is this whole crew of living workers. Her body prepares them for us in two places. The first place is the birth canal. As we leave her body, we are naturally inoculated with her precious gift of health. Also, in the birth canal is a signaling device, like an alarm, that sends a strong message to the mammary glands: “Baby’s coming through! Gather the workers and put them in the milk!” The first milk is called colostrum. It contains the second inoculation of good guys. These guys go to the stomach and intestines and set up our ability to digest and absorb nutrients.

Without these inoculations, the baby’s health will be compromised for life. Things won’t work quite right. Nutrients will be missing, and it will be easier for toxins to enter the cells and create malfunction.

Garth Brooks sings a song that tells what God thinks of Moms. God says Mom’s only goal in life is too make sure we’ll always be alright. He can say that, because He designed her body to do just that. Enjoy the song:

“MOM”

By Garth Brooks A Little baby told God, “Hey, I’m kinda scared

Don’t really know if I wanna go down there.

From here it looks like a little blue ball

But it’s a great big place and I am so small.

Why can’t I just stay here with you?

Did I make you mad? Don’t you want me too?”

And God said, “Oh, Child! Of course I do.

But there’s somebody special waiting for you. Chorus: So hush now baby, don’t you cry.

Cuz there’s someone down there waiting who’s only goal in life

Is making sure you’re always gonna be alright

A loving angel, tender, tough and strong

It’s almost time to and meet your MOM.

You’ll never have a better friend

Or warmer touch to tuck you in

She’ll kiss your bruises, your bumps and scrapes

Any time you hurt, her heart’s gonna break

Now, when she’s talking to you, make sure you listen close

Cuz she’s gonna teach you everything you’ll ever need to know

Like how to mind your manners

To love and laugh and dream

And she’ll put you on the path that brings you back to me. Chorus: So hush now baby, don’t you cry.

Cuz there’s someone down there waiting who’s only goal in life

Is making sure you’re always gonna be alright

A loving angel, tender, tough and strong

Come on, child, it’s time to meet your MOM.

Enjoy Mother’s Day and Until then … Take charge! … Sylvia
