Harmony Magnet Academy graduates 134
Students received diplomas at Buck Shaffer Theater
A total 134 Harmony Magnet Academy students hit a major milestone in their life Thursday evening when they each walked up to receive their high school diplomas at the Buck Shaffer Theater inside the Porterville Memorial Auditorium.
“It feels surreal,” said Arelli Adams. “Time has passed so fast and I am so nervous what the future holds.”
Nervous, yet excited at the same time as Adams will attend the University of California, Berkeley with a plan to study media communications and education.
“I am super excited about that,” Adams said.
After four years of high school, Alexis Gonzalez said he is ready to move onto college and do greater things.
“I am feeling kind of nervous for what comes next, but I know that high school has prepared me, especially going to Harmony and graduating from the Academy of Performing Arts,” Gonzalez said. “It is an amazing feeling.”
Jacob Flores, who graduated from the Academy of Engineering, said graduating from high school is bittersweet.
“It is one of those feelings that you can’t shake off, you know it has to come,” said Flores, who will attend the University of California, Davis to study biological sciences. “I am just really looking forward to this.”
Fabian Ramirez said even though high school was a great experience, he can’t wait to go to the University of California, Merced where he plans to major in Civil Engineering.
