School shootings, bombings, and other acts of mayhem will not stop in this culture, so what can be done about it? When I was in high school some of the guys who were going hunting after school would bring firearms to school in their trunks, or maybe in a rifle rack in the back of the truck.

It was a normal thing. There were still bullies, and kids who were unpopular and were picked on. We had the same thing we do now — school children both good and bad — and guns were far more accessible then. So why were there no school shootings during my time in school and for many years after?

In the late 1800’s, the secular theories of Charles Darwin started a debate that ended in the 1920’s with the fundamentalist-modernist controversy. That in turn led to the 1968 Epperson v. Arkansas Supreme Court decision along with others in 1987 and 2005 that ended the Genesis versus Evolution debate and what would be taught in schools.

Remember, Darwinism is a theory that is now taught as fact. Along with that there was the 1962 and 1963 Supreme Court landmark decisions that ended school prayer.

During my time in school and shortly after our country has gone from a Christian culture to a secular culture where there is no God and you are an animal.

This is not to say there are not Christians now or that everyone was a believer when I entered school, only that our culture has changed, and I believe this is the main reason why there are now so many mass shootings in the United States.

Unfortunately, this will be almost impossible to change, barring a revival, which would face huge legal challenges should we try to re-establish Christianity in schools.

It would take several generations for that to take effect. Therefore all effort to protect children in our secular culture must be focused on helping law enforcement do their jobs and making schools and public places hard targets.

This means good guys with guns and proper security built in and around schools. It will be expensive and take away some freedoms, but what are our children worth?

Disarming the United States citizen or other solutions that have been echoed in the news media and Washington will fall short of the goal of protecting our children from school shooters.
