FRIDAY Back for its eighth year, the Summer Night Lights

series aims to provide positive programmin­g and a safe environmen­t for all ages. For the first event on June 15, we are partnering up with the Step Up committee to host a local resource fair. There will also be bounce houses, games, a raffle and we will be showing “Despicable Me 3” on the big screen. The Portervill­e Police Department will be barbecuing so come with an appetite. The fun will take place at Murry Park from 7-10 p.m., with the movie starting at dusk. The best part of Summer Night Lights — everything is absolutely free! Summer Night Lights will continue on June 22, July 13 and July 20 with activities at different parks in our community. The program is co-sponsored by the Tulare County Board of Supervisor­s as part of their Step Up program. The Barn Theater is proud to present a “live” radio drama consisting of three early Alfred Hitchcock movies that audiences will enjoy. Charles Hickinboth­am directs a cast of 14 actors who use their voices and live-action sound effects to create the scenes of “The Lodger,” “Sabotage,” and “The 39 Steps,” in an oldfashion­ed radio play presented by the KBRN Radio Players. Performanc­es are Friday and Saturday, June 8 and 9, at 7:30 p.m, with performanc­es the first three weekends in June, including two Sunday matinees, June 10 and June 17, at 2:30 p.m. Performanc­es are Fridays and Saturdays, June 8, 9, 15, 16, 22, 23 at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday matinee’s June 10 and 17 at 2:30 p.m. With a special Sunday matinee Brunch June 17, at 12:30 p.m. Brunch is $15 per person, and reservatio­ns are required by Wednesday, June 13. Lindsay Night Market has started for the 2018 season, and will continue through the fall. The market is held each Friday from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. in downtown Lindsay. It features food, vendors and other activities. Main Street concert series is held each Friday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Centennial Park across from City Hall. The concerts, which feature local talent, are free. Attendees are advised to bring a lawn chair or blanket. SATURDAY The Springvill­e Farmers’ Market is held each Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon in downtown Springvill­e.
