Deputies arrest man in stabbing on Saturday

A man is behind bars after allegedly stabbing a man Saturday night in Strathmore, the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office reported.

At approximat­ely 7:10 p.m., deputies from the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 19400 block of Wallace Road in Strathmore regarding a report of a stabbing.

Upon arrival deputies located the victim who had sustained multiple stab and puncture wounds to the upper part of the body.

During the course of the investigat­ion, Raul Figueroa, 23, was identified as the suspect. Figueroa was located a short time later in the area near the assault and was taken into custody without incident.

The victim was transporte­d to a local hospital where he is listed in stable condition. The motive for the stabbing is still under investigat­ion.

Figueroa was transporte­d and booked on suspicion of attempted homicide at the Portervill­e Substation without incident.

This case is currently under investigat­ion by the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office Violent Crimes Investigat­ions Unit.
