The So Cal Juniors Girls Volleyball Club has expanded to 12U and is in need of players to fill a couple of roster spots. Socal Juniors give players the chance to grow their volleyball skill set. For more informatio­n, call Coach Job Lara at (562) 413-3444. City of Portervill­e youth volleyball league begins registrati­on on May 1. The goal of this league, and all of our youth sports programs, is to develop fundamenta­ls, character and sportsmans­hip and foster a positive, pressure-free environmen­t without putting too much stress on the outcome of the game. It is designed for fourtheigh­th graders. Practices will take place on weekdays beginning in June with games played on Saturdays starting in July. The cost of the league is $46. The Junior Giants, a flagship program of the San Francisco Giants Community Fund, is a free, non-competitiv­e baseball league for boys and girls ages 5-13. The Junior Giants use baseball as a forum to encourage young people and their families to live healthy productive lives. To get your child involved, register online at gojrgiants.org starting at 9 a.m. on May 7. Space is limited for this incredible program so early registrati­on is advised. Registrati­on includes a uniform t-shirt and hat, six games, plus other incentives. Practices begin in June and games are played in July at the Portervill­e Sports Complex. Summer sessions for the Valley Water

Polo Club begin June 11 at the Monache High School pool. Boys and girls of all ages and abilities are invited to join the club and learn the sport of water polo or join other experience­d players to expand skill sets. Sessions for boys and girls will be Monday through Thursday mornings, and Saturday mornings, as scheduled. Splashball is available for ages 10-, 12and 14-years-old. Both boys and girls will have summer programs as well. Splashball practices take place Monday and Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings. Summer practice schedules begins June 11 and run through July 27.Teams compete in tournament­s throughout California as well as local games in this summer session. European wrestling twins, Sergei and Anatoly Beloglazov, are arguably two of the greatest technical minds to ever hit the mat and they’re showcasing their talents at Portervill­e High School.the Beloglazov brothers will hold a clinic at Portervill­e on Tuesday, June 26 as part of their Beloglazov Brothers 2018 US Clinic Tour: Masters of Technique. The clinic runs from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m and costs $33. Applicants can register online at www.wrestling. life/beloglazov. The Beloglazov brothers have a combined three Olympic titles, nine World titles, and six European titles, there is no other pair to achieve such feats in the sport of wrestling.
