Porterville, Springville Postmasters to host meet and greets
For several months now, Congressman Kevin Mccarthy’s mobile office attendees in Porterville and Springville have brought forward customer service concerns from each of the local post offices.
Cole Karr, Mccarthy’s field representative, said Congressman Mccarthy’s office has been in contact with the U.S. Postal Service’s Sierra Coastal District region office in Santa Clarita.
“I have been informed of new staff/ office leadership changes following issues in both Porterville and Springville,” Karr said.
Karr said residents and postal customers should expect changes in service with the staff changes. To make certain standing concerns are addressed, Karr said USPS will hold meet and greet events with postmasters at post offices in both Porterville and Springville every Thursday for four weeks, beginning Thursday, July 19.
Concerned Porterville postal customers can meet with the postmaster in the Porterville Post Office lobby from 9 to 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 19, Thursday, July 26, Thursday, Aug. 2, and Thursday, Aug. 9. The Porterville Post Office is located at 65 W. Mill Ave.
Karr said concerned Springville postal customers can meet with the postmaster in the Springville Post Office lobby from 9 to 11 a.m. on the same days as in Porterville.
The Springville Post Office is located at 35701 Highway 190.
Karr said constituents are encouraged to attend the meet and greets to discuss issues with the new postmasters.
In the meantime, Karr said USPS recommends postal customers to subscribe to its new Informed Delivery system, which he said sends scanned photos of mail to be delivered each day.
Karr recommends those with any questions or concerns to contact a local post office. He also said residents are also welcome to contact him in Congressman Mccarthy’s office at (661) 327-3611.
