A free keto diet class and support group is being held from 2-4 p.m. each Saturday between Aug. 11 and Sep. 29 in the History Room of the Porterville City Library. The ketogenic, keto for short, diet is a very low-carb diet, which turns the body into a fatburning machine. The class and group is being run by a local registered nurse. City Pool will be open through Labor Day. The pool is open daily from 1 to 5 p.m. for recreational use through the Labor Day holiday. Admission is $2 for adults and $1 for youth, ages 12 and under.
