A free keto diet class and support group

is being held from 2-4 p.m. each Saturday between Aug. 11 and Sep. 29 in the History Room of the Porterville City Library. The ketogenic, keto for short, diet is a very lowcarb diet, which turns the body into a fat-burning machine. The class and group is being run by a local registered nurse. The Tule River Historical Museum

is open to the public from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sundays and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesdays with no admission charge. The museum houses a collection of vintage lumber mill and farm equipment. City Pool will be open through Labor Day.

The pool is open daily from 1 to 5 p.m. for recreational use through the Labor Day holiday. Admission is $2 for adults and $1 for youth, ages 12 and under.
